A/W 18- The Need For Tweed

Guys, my need for tweed this AW is on a new level, I love it more than ever before. I created a mood board to show you all the items I am so in love with this season. I'm still searching for my perfect tweed jacket for this winter that isn't typically trend led so it will last me over the years. I have my eye on a Sandro beige one which is lovelyyyy (and pricey!). However, my spending ban on clothes this month means that it will have to be an early November purchase (damn it).

I find it funny that if you gave me a tweed jacket or skirt or even trousers when I was in high school I would of probably just turned my nose up at it. That is because it probably reminded me of that horrid high school uniform. However, now I have really developed my personal style I could live in a tweed or checked co-ord for the rest of the season!

I have seen that some high street shops like H&M, New Look and Topshop have brought out some really amazing and affordable tailored jackets with a matching skirt or trousers this season that are an amazing tweed. Personally, I love the matching skirt with a jacket styled with a plain t-shirt or jumper underneath and some simple chunky trainers for a dress down day or high heeled boots when you're heading out and want to feel a little more fancy.

At University I am currently designing my own tailored jacket as well as creating a sample jacket. So, I really feel like this particular trend has come at a great time as there is so much inspiration around  with some amazing unique tailored jackets. I am currently searching so many online sources and books to be inspired by traditional as well as more modern tailoring, as well as sourcing all different types of tweed samples to get inspired by.
