S/S 18 Trends I'm Loving

SPRING, is it finally here? The clocks have gone forward and I'm sat waiting ever so patiently for some damn sun. I've spent the past few weeks a little under the weather which means, obviosuly a little bit of retail therapy (literally). After scrolling Zara's new in and Topshop's new in constantly, I came to the conclusion I don't quite have the bank balance I wish I had to splurge out on the new in and cool clothes everyone is obsessing over. I did a post a few weeks ago showing S/S18 items that I have already added into my wardrobe. So, today I am showing you a few other trends I have seen emerging since that and I haven't quite invested in yet. There is definitely some pieces I have my eye on that I am sure I will pick up as we head into summer. I posted on Instagram the other week (here) the quote, "BUY LESS, CHOOSE WELL, MAKE IT LAST". So, you could say I am definitely trying to invest my money in more staple items that will last throughout the seasons. Never the less, that does not mean I have not been LOVING these new trends.

Chunky trainers
This trend was not so me when It originally appeared. I know a lot of people do love the ugly trainer look but Im still finding it hard to find any I like enough without thinking they are far too ugly. However, the white chunky soled trainers I love. I was about to pick the white ones up from Topshop before they sold out or similarly the Zara ones. I really like the look of styling the chunky trainers with tailored trousers. It makes the outfits look a lot more wearable and causal but still sleek. Although,  I do know the minute I get some they will have to be in pristine condition or they wouldn't suit tailored trousers and suits, Scruffy trainers are not the one.

I did a post not too long ago showing you my bright red coloured co-ord from Topshop. I have been loving styling co-ords recently, they are so much fun. I posted a picture on Instagram (here) last week wearing a mustard suit co-ord from Zara with a lace body underneath.

Bum Bags
I love this trend, especially the designer bumbags like Gucci, I am also currently lusting over the bright coloured and velvet ones. They work really well styling them with maxi dresses and suits, its almost so wrong it works so well. Although, I don't think bum bags will stick around for very long so I think its definitely worth buying one off the high street unless this is your thing to see you through summer. I am still on the hunt to find my perfect bum bag.

Vintage Florals
Florals is a print I find really difficult, it never usually catches my eye and I find it awkward to style. However, a few months ago I picked up a few tea dresses from Nasty Gal's sale. One being a mustard vintage floral. Styled with some mules or black boots in the city, it works really well together.

Pastels colours... in particular yellow for me. I mentioned this in my S/S 18 wardrobe post that I had started incorporating yellow more into my wardrobe. Since, I have continued to add yellow including this & Other Stories t-shirt which is amazing. Its super easy to start adding pieces of pastel into your wardrobe especially pastel co-ords (dreamy).

I love love love this trend! The utility style trousers, shirts and shackets (apparently the word for a jacket and shirt combined ??). Zara, I have been especially impressed with recently and they had an amazing utility style shirts with contrasting stitching and big buttons, as well as matching trousers. I am also loving the really over sized grunge look that accompanies this, really stylish for S/S this year.
